Edible Book Show

Recently read about an Edible Book Show in Milwaukee, fashioned after others imagined and created by a woman named Judith Hoffberg, a librarian and art curator who lived in California. She had two rules for anyone who wanted to host a festival such as this: Books must be made of edible materials and it should be held close to April 1st.

What a cool concept. Our local paper had an article about the 2nd annual Edible Book Show held at Woodland Pattern Book Center in Milwaukee. Some really cool things were created. I'll need to remember this event next year and attend.

Doing a quick search, I found many other edible book festivals and events. Love the idea of this.

One World One Heart Give Away Winner

Just announced: Pamela is the winner of my give away. This is what Pamela had to say about Visual Literacy:

I think that as far as art is concerned, it is being able to see art as art, and appreciate the work, and be moved by it.

Thanks Pamela! Please contact me.

One World, One Heart Event

PhotoNOTE: POSTING TO COMMENTS CLOSE ON WEDNESDAY FEB. 11 at 5:00 CENTRAL TIME. AT THAT TIME, I WILL BE CHOOSING THE WINNER OF MY GIVE AWAY.

I am a participant again this year in this great event. Click on the logo to learn more about it. It gives bloggers a chance to get to know one another and share their art and handiwork. Part of the event includes having a "give away" and sharing one's art with the world.

My give away is an Artist Trading Card I made for a swap. I also will be sending along with the ATC some "goodies" to enhance your own art - whether you are a scrapbooker, collage and mixed media artist or just love pretty things.

Leave a comment to win the ATC and the goodie bag of fun stuff. This event ends on February
12 and I will pick one winner from those of you who post comments on this blog post.

As an added bonus, your name will be added twice if you leave in your comment YOUR personal definition of VISUAL LITERACY. This is an area of interest of mine and I want to know how others define this very nebulous concept.

Thanks and check out the rest of my artwork on my blog.
